A Legacy of Color & Conscience

A pioneer of the Chicano mural movement in New Mexico, Francisco LeFebre combines the grand tradition of Mexican muralists like Orozco and Rivera with the vibrant, contemporary spirit of the Southwest.

From the iconic "Nuestra Juventud" at Albuquerque High to the beloved "La Primavera," his work is more than paint on a wall—it is a dialogue with history, a mirror for the community, and a prayer for the future.

"The mural is the ideal art form... it advocates for the most vulnerable people in society through dynamic and aesthetic cultural commentary."
